Each stanza (Tanka or Haiku, respectively) is inspired by the photo above it. I hope you enjoy.
The Phoenix in Each Moment
Time burns through our lives,
Incinerating the flesh,
Picking clean our form—
Leaves behind lifeless casings,
Reminds of impermanence.
Living properly,
Being the air as your breathe,
Appreciating.
The day is ending.
All that you love will be lost.
Don’t let it pass by.
Locked in synchronous
Motion, relativity
Induces stillness.
Barren barrier
Eclipses the summer warmth,
Relates with the land.
Out from the chaos,
The fluidity lines up,
Granting clarity.
Our journey is long,
Is tentative, and is short.
We’ve a space to be;
We’ve countless eons to not.
We’re always being reborn.
